What a week! Freshly back from (seriously prolonged and fantastic) holidays, I hit the ground running with the launch of the Geelong Celebrant Collective (GCC) on Wednesday night. The GCC is a project I’ve been working on with my co-director and gorgeous friend Nicole Penning. In August of last year, we began to pull together the initial threads of what has now become a fantastic powerhouse of amazing celebrants – complete with website, socials and a whole lot of plans for the future!
Our launch was hosted at The Warehouse in Geelong, an incredible new wedding venue which is rapidly becoming the hottest new place to hold your celebrations. Styled up and looking amazing bedecked with florals from Wildfolk Flowers, it was a warm respite from the cold winter’s night.
VIPs were served 6ft6 Prosecco, Blackmans Brewery beer and Oakdene Sparkling from the fabulous caravan bar of Boutique Event Co, while Smits Band kept the party vibes flowing.
Samantha Krajina, our MC, was absolutely perfect in fitting with our united belief in keeping formalities fun and concise! She kept the crowd laughing and truly captured the spirit of the GCC, emphasising the importance of #commmunityovercompetition and celebrating the incredibly high calibre of wedding professionals in Geelong, Bellarine and the Surf Coast.
We were so overwhelmed with how many of our colleagues turned up to support us, and after a few bubbles there seemed to be mass utilisation of the GIF booth so kindly provided by Zuster!
Thank you again to all our amazing supporters – our industry friends, our families and our couples. We are so excited to see the GCC come to life and look forward to celebrating many more achievements within the region’s wedding industry!
